Oz 145;Fanatics146; detained for stealing drinks

The touring Australian cricketers were treated to a bit of embarrassment when the members of an Aussie fans8217; group called 8216;The Fanatics8217; , tried to steal two large containers of drink belonging to them at the end of the first Test in Bangalore.

Some members of the group, known for supporting the Australian teams and athletes overseas, were detained by police and their passports temporarily confiscated yesterday.

Bangalore police and the hotel management refused to comment.

Interestingly one of the troublemakers claimed to be the brother of Australia8217;s stand-in captain Adam Gilchrist.
