Sing for cricket
Pitch fever, the cricket album was released by Kapil Dev recently. The compilation comprises six tracks, each composed by different people. The title track is composed by Lezz Lewis, andpromises to take the music and cricketing fraternity by storm. Present at the release were Kapil Dev, Mohinder Amarnath, Sandeep Patil, Raj Singh Dungarpur and Vinod Kambli. The camaraderie amongst them was evident even as they made sporting cracks at each other throughout the show, duly supported by emcee Harsha Bhogale.Back to the album, which will be out on the stands next week do not miss out on this buy if you are a cricket freak. After all, if there was football fever, why shouldn8217;t there be cricket frenzy as well?

For juniors
The Infamous Five, who look like they are well on their way to becoming famous, were read out by their creator yesterday, at a special session at Crossword, the bookstore. Bubla Basu, author of It Happened That Year, one of the most interesting books for children to have been written in a long, long time, was in the city, reading, discussing and signing away copies. The lack of a serious line of fiction for children has been sorely felt in the past. Let8217;s hope that Bubla Basu makes up for it.
It Happened That Year is widely available for Rs 60.
Super success
When Super cassette industries does well, they celebrate in style. At a party held to blow the bugle for the success of their two albums, Deewana and Dhadkan last week, the entire film industry turned up to pay their respects. Young Bhushan Kumar, son of the late Gulshan Kumar, was the picture of suave sophistication, as he greeted guests and handled the event with a panache that belies his 23years.
Wish people could learn from that.
