In Jagraon as part of his Vikas Yatra, Badal says his yatra better than his predecessors

Comparing his Vikas Yatra with that of his predecessor and bete noire Capt Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that unlike Amarinder8217;s rally, his Vikas Yatra was for development. He was interacting with mediapersons after his arrival in Jagraon on Saturday.

When reminded that Amarinder Singh had taken out his Vikas Yatra at the fag end of his tenure and the SAD-BJP alliance had then criticised the then CM for wasting public money, Badal said, 8220;Capt8217;s Vikas Yatra was meant for his personal gains while ours is aimed at development.8221;

Perturbed at the reference of Amarinder Singh8217;s time and again, Badal said, 8220;Who is the Captain? He is neither the president of his party, nor the leader of his party8217;s MLAs. Leave alone that, he is not even an MLA today.8221;

He condemned the former CM for 8216;ignoring8217; the interests of the state. 8220;But we don8217;t consider Amarinder our enemy. Our enemy is Congress, which has ignored Punjab8217;s interests.8221;

Without taking Amarinder8217;s name, he said that the then CM was busy collecting cash and doing aish fun. Taking a dig at his bete noire, Badal said the then CM either preferred to stay in England or in Pakistan. A number of other leaders of the SAD-BJP alliance also spoke on the occasion. These leaders included Cabinet minister Manoranjan Kalia, MP, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, senior Akali leader Gurdev Singh Badal, former MLA Bhag Singh Mallah and others.
