Kolkata hangman Nata Mullick is waiting for August 14 8212; the day he will put the noose on Dhananjoy Chatterjee.
8216;8216;Just before committing a murder, the murderer gets all charged up to kill. I also have got the same state of mind now. I am just dying for the moment to come,8217;8217; Mullick, 84, a hangman for three generations, said.
The hangman has so far hanged 24 people while his father notched 600 people including many freedom fighters. 8216;8216;I want this ordeal to be over soon. If it is becoming unbearable for Dhananjoy, it is becoming unbearable for me too,8217;8217; Mullick said.
He said he was not very happy with the job offer his grandson got. 8216;8216;He was given a job that was purely contractual and I am not happy with that. But still since it is the government which wants me to do it, I will go ahead with the job,8217;8217; the hangman said.
Meanwhile, Dhananjoy8217;s lawyers filed a petition in the SC today to review the sentence. A Constitution bench will hear the plea.
