
VADODARA, Aug 29: In a keenly contested election, held at ONGC Officers8217; Club, of the Association of Scientific and Technical Officers ASTO, Vadodara, for 1999-2000, about 1112 out of 1163 votes were polled. The victorious team of this body now comprises D N Singh, president, K S Randhawa, vice-president, S D Chaubey, Secretary, R A Sony, Joint-Secretary and R V Mehrotri, Treasurer.
Mehendi competition: Talents for creative Mehendi designs were spotted at a competition held by the Mahila Samiti. The first, second and third prizes in the women8217;s category were bagged by Rita Garg, Asha Sultania and Anita Kargupta respectively. Among the girls, the first, second and the third prizes were won by Ambika Sultania, Nikita Khamishra and Arunima Sinha respectively.
Honours for ONGC: The ONGC, drilling RIG IPS-M-700-VIII of Ahmedabad Project achieved the rare distinction by acquiring Level-2 baseline audit of Safety Management System SMS based on an international safety rating system. This was the first onshore RUG in ONGC to achieve the distinction in India.
To introduce the concept of loss control and SMS in drilling services, ONGC Ahmedabad project took up the SMS-International Safety Rating System ISRS Project. SMS comprises identification of all loss exposures inherent in the operation, assessment of risks and controlling the risks in these loss exposures to reasonable levels.
