One held for stabbing accomplice

AUGUST 5: The Tardeo police station has registered a case against one Harish C Nandgaonkar under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code IPC, after he stabbed his associate thrice last week, when the latter refused to share a booty of stolen diamonds with him.

The duo were involved in the robbery of a diamond company, TP amp; Company, in Mahim last year, which amounted to over one crore. The accused is still at large.

The injured, Rajiv Kokere, was immediately rushed to Nair Hospital where he is being treated.

The two were part of a larger gang of eight, involved in the robbery last year. One of them was killed and another seriously injured in police encounter. Six were arrested and released on bail by the Mahim police. Later, property worth Rs 90 lakh was recovered from them, said senior police inspector, Tardeo police station, L R Desai.
