National Conference chief Omar Abdullah today threatened to quit the Government at the Centre, accusing the BJP of trying to enforce its own agenda instead of the NDA8217;s Common Minimum Programme CMP.
Here to attend the NC Legislative party meet, Omar said the party may look for other options if the BJP continues to keep talking its own agenda. 8216;8216;This will not make relations any stronger. It8217;s been seen that the BJP is distancing itself from the CMP and trying to enforce its own agenda,8217;8217; he said.
He rejected speculations about Farooq Abdullah accepting a Cabinet berth at the Centre. 8216;8216;The NC does not want him to join the Union ministry. I am also personally against it. There is no truth in speculations that he Farooq is joining the Union Cabinet,8217;8217; he said.
The NC chief also criticised the Centre for diverting the industrial package meant for J-K to Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal keeping in view the Assembly elections there. This is also a failure on the part of Mufti Sayeed government, he said, adding: 8216;8216;I fought for two years for this package but it was withheld by the Centre in view of the Assembly elections in the state.8217;8217;
To an observation that Army Chief Gen Vij has also supported the healing touch policy of the state government, Omar alleged that the Centre has no policy on J-K. 8216;8216;This is why both the Army and Central ministers give different statements on infiltration in J-K,8217;8217; he added.
