This week, Jatin-Lalit dominate the scene again with Sarfarosh. And when you listen to their songs, you realise that this duo deserve their success. Of a total of six songs, three are outstanding and three good. The best one, however, is the one you catch on TV channels regularly, Jo haal dil ka8217;, rendered by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. Very racy-pacy, catchy, and pleasant to hear. The other beautiful track is the ghazal by Jagjit Singh, Hoshwalon ko khabar kya hai8217;. A haunting, melancholic number, trademark Jagjit Singh, this one also brags of beautiful lyrics by Nida Fazli.
The third good number is Is deewane ladke ko8217;, a song sung mostly by Alka Yagnik, with Aamir Khan piping up in between with a word here, a phrase there. Wethinks he8217;s going to make it a policy to have at least one track sung by himself in each film. But then, after the success of Ghulam, that wouldn8217;t be such a terrible idea.Zindagi maut na ban jaye8217; is also a decent track even though there is nothing specifically original. A good buy, mainly for the first two tracks on the first side.8212; RUCHI SHARMA
