With the wedding season around the corner, can bridal collections be far behind? Manish Malhotra was in town recently to launch his cocktail and couture collection aimed at the bridal market, at Samsaara, the multi-designer boutique in the capital. The Mumbai-based designer, known for creating uber-luxe looks for his clients from Bollywood, has created an equally seamless look for the brides this season, with brocades and velvets and silks in jewel tones. The silhouettes are layered, aimed to add volume to the outfits, while the look has an air of decadent opulence about it. Malhotra, who is the man behind Priyanka Chopra’s stunning costumes in Dostana, was accompanied by actor Celina Jaitley (in the picture) at the launch.
