The BJP’s PM hopeful L K Advani was a very upset man after the first day of the debate on the trust vote. Not only did he fail to make a convincing argument in his opening remarks, but it now turns out that many in the BJP—the RSS definitely—felt that Advani should have spoken in Hindi and not English in a debate watched by people across the country. And many thought his reply should have been more befitting of a “mass leader” than the personal attacks he made on Manmohan Singh, which later invited an equally caustic response.
