
The CPIM is all for an alternative government to get rid of 8220;cut-and-paste8221; alliances like the UPA or NDA, Sitaram Yechury said on Sunday. The party would strive for an alternative government in the near future but would stand by the socially-oriented forces and try to bring them together for a common cause, he said. Talking on the political scenario ahead of the coming Assembly elections, he said, 8220;Our main aim is to check advancement of the communal and casteist forces and thus we shall oppose the BJP-Akali coalition in Punjab and BJP-BSP coalition in UP8221;.
