No permission for IPL if it clashes with Aus series: PCB

PCB ruled out allowing its players to take part in next year's IPL if it clashes with their rescheduled home series against Aus.

.

Pakistan Cricket Board PCB ruled out allowing its players to take part in next year8217;s Indian Premier League if it clashes with their rescheduled home series against Australia.

Brushing aside any possibility of a Sri Lanka type situation where cricketers are on a collision course with their Board over their proposed England tour during IPL season, PCB Chief Operating Officer Shafqat Naghmi reasoned that a domestic tournament 8212; IPL 8212; cannot take precedence over international commitment.

8220;We don8217;t see any confrontation with the players over the clash of dates of the IPL with the Australian tour. IPL is a domestic tournament. International commitments take precedence over the domestic tournaments and IPL is no exception,8221; he said.

8220;We will work strictly under a principle which has been decided at the International Cricket Council ICC level.

Obviously the home series against Australia is very important for us and nothing will take precedence over it,8221; he added.
