MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 23: Manoj Mahadevan flattered to deceive as he went down tamely to John Doran of Ireland 7-6, 6-3, in one hour 40 minutes ending the Indian challenge at the $ 10,000 ITF Futures tennis tournament at the Dr GA Ranade Tennis Centre here on Thursday.

Mahadevan started well and went up 3-1 in the first set but he could not keep up the tempo allowing the Irish qualifier a chance to comeback taking the set to tie-break.

Doran went up 6-1 in the tie-break, but Manoj fought well to make it 6-5. Then a weak serve from Manoj enabled Doran to make an easy passing backhand and clinch the set 7-5. In the second set Manoj appeared to have lost steam as he went down without putting up a fight at 6-3.
