MUMBAI, AUG 16: Except for eighth seed Parantap Chaturvedi (Delhi), who suffered a shocking 1-6, 1-6 reverse against Nirmit Shetty (Karnataka), the other seeds ambled through in the boys first round of the India Pistons-KTC AITA Junior Tennis Championship at the Krishnan Tennis Centre here on Monday.
National under-14 champion, Parantap seems to be going through a crisis of confidence as he slid to his second consecutive first round defeat. He also lost in the first round of the junior Nationals recently.
Preethi Rao of Tamil Nadu produced the only upset in the girls section, bouncing statemate and sixth seed Vishnu Preetham 6-3, 6-2.
