NEW DELHI, May 11: One of the Capital's popular soccer outfits, Hindustan Football Club who finished runners-up in last year's local league, have got sponsors. Allywn, a giant in the world of refrigeration, will sponsor the team for a period of two years in an effort to promote professional football in the Capital.The club will be co-sponsored by LML Limited. In addition to co-sponsoring the club, LML will present a scooter to one of the best local players at the conclusion of the Super Division League.Besides, Reebok, the world's leading shoe manufacturers, will provideplaying and warm-up shoes to the players for the entire season.The club's organising secretary, D K Bose, told newsmen here last night that the club had recruited quite a few leading players for the next season. While retaining top players including Mohd Khalid, Hitender Singh Rawat, Mohd Mobin, Arjun Singh Negi, Sanjay Sidhu, Biswajit Kundu and Deepak Bisht, crack striker Dharmender Kharola, Viren Metai, Vivek Sharma, Yashpal Rawat, mahesh Bisht, Nageshwar Rao along wityh former India junior Mohan Singh, former India schools player Joginder Singh Rawat and Punjab u-21 player Manjit Singh have joined the club.Eastablished in 1948, the club is likely to be selected by the All India Football Federation to participate in the Federation Cup, Bose said.
