
Power supply to be disconnected
Electricity supply to several colonies in East Delhi would be disconnected due to routine maintenance work from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.. The Delhi Vidyut Board DVB spokesman said parts of Mayur Vihar, Phase 8211; I, Kalyanvas, Khichri Pur, Murga market, Ghazipur, Khichri Pur village, resettlement colony, Mayur Vihar, Trilokpuri and Kondli pumping station will remain without electricity on Saturday.
Youth Cong stir against BJP
South Delhi Youth Congress workers on Friday held a series of protests against the misrule8217; and corruption8217; in the Delhi Bhartiya Janata Party BJP in issuing ration cards and voter cards. Party south district president S.S. Duggal led the 8220;first flying protest8221;.
S Delhi colonies go without power
Several colonies in South Delhi remained without power due to breakdown in DVB equipment on Friday, but the Board said efforts to repair them were on. Board spokesman said the peak demand was 2,000 MW and was met through DVB8217;s own resources. Defence Colony, Khanpur, Dakshinpuri, Kalkaji, Rohini, Mukherjee Park, Shakti Nagar, Karkardooma, R.K. Puram, Sainik Farms, parts of Mehrauli, T.B. Hospital, Dilshad Garden, Sabzi Mandi, Uttam Nagar, Vishu Garden were some of the areas affected, but power restoration work was underway, he added.
DVB raids in East, West Delhi
DVB on Friday said it carried out several raids in East and West Delhi and detected 19 cases of tampering of metres and electricity lines. The board said 300.74 KW connected load was detected and several FIRs were registered in local police stations.
