New course to develop total human brain potential

According to the Institute, total potential of the human brain can now be systematically developed by people to increase perfection in life. The institute is offering a course in Total Knowledge for Perfection in Life8217; that will impart training to professionals to make use of their total brain potential from January 12.

A delegation of scientists, doctors and professors from Germany, the United States and Austria 8212; who were in the city to inaugurate the programme on Wednesday 8212; emphasised that the course has been scientifically designed to incorporate both Vedic and Modern Sciences.

Making a presentation on Total Knowledge for Total Brain Development8217;, the experts said the technologies of Maharshi8217;s Vedic Sciences and Transcendental Meditation TM enlivens the total brain potential of an individual.

8220;More than 600 scientific research studies, conducted at over 200 universities and research institutions in 30 countries, confirm that all ares of society are profoundly enriched through the technologies of Maharishi8217;s Vedic Science, particularly TM8221;, they said.

According to Michael Dillbeck, International Vice President, Maharishi Institute of Management, the course will begin from January 2000. The course has been divided into two sections 8212; one with a six-month duration and the second with one year8217;s duration.

He regretted that education prevailing in the world today lacks total knowledge and the means to enliven it in human consciousness. Due to the lack of total brain development, citizens of every country are shrouded in problems and suffering, Dillbeck said.

8220;The course will increase intelligence, creativity, improve learning ability, enhance academic performance besides improving health of all systems of the body8221;, he said.

Maharishi8217;s Vedic Approach to health is a complete and holistic system of health care that eliminates hazardous side-effects of modern allopathic medicine, Dillbeck added.

Professor N N Lyubinov of the Moscow Brain Institute had established that those practising the Maharishi8217;s Transcendental Meditation would have access to quot;hidden brain reservesquot;. The post-graduate studies would train the students on these lines, the experts said.

Physician Association for Eradicating Chronic Disease United States, executive director Dr Barry Charles said people in the USA were turning to the Vedic system of health care having a holistic approach. The governmental agencies have recognised it, he added.

However, he expressed surprise at India being a dumping ground for even banned allophathic drugs. The most disturbing trend was that despite pioneering Ayurveda and the Unani systems of medicine, nearly 85 per cent of Government funds in India was being allocated for allopathy, he said.

How smart are the leaders?

BANGALORE: Scientists from the USA, Germany, Austria and Holland who were part of the research programme on Vedic Science conducted by the Maharishi Institute of Management have suggested objective measures of brain function to evaluate the competence of leaders, including politicians.

The team of doctors, who were here on Thursday to announce the launch of a post-graduate programme on total brain functioning by the institute, said the science had advanced to a level where it is possible to objectively measure the internal fitness of the brain of any executive or official.

People in high office like prime ministers, governors, ministers and company directors who are aged, should be subjected to a scientific test of brain functioning. They should prove that their brain functioning will not not delay or restrict decision making, affecting the progress of the country.

They said these tests were simple and commonly available in any major city and could be performed easily.
