New ADJ joins

CHANDIGARH, Oct 12: S.K. Goyal has joined as the new Additional District and Sessions Judge, Chandigarh, with effect from October 8. He has presently proceeded on joining leave and would take charge next week. Goyal was earlier holding the charge of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Ludhiana. With Goyal8217;s joining, the lower courts now have four additional district and sessions judges. The others are S.S. Lamba, G.S. Sandhu and R.C. Godara.

Contests mark Environment Week n Environment Week celebrations concluded at the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, here today. The school had organised various contests to educate youngsters about the importance of a healthy environment. The school had organised contests on cartoon making, poster making, placard making and essay writing, to mark the celebrations.

The students took out a rally in Sector 22 to educate the residents about the concept of City Beautiful by keeping the city clean. J.S. Garewal, vice-chairman of the Environment Society of India, gave away the prizes to the winners.
