
CHANDIGARH, Feb 21: A two-day course in neuro-radiology jointly organised by the AIIMS, Maulana Azad Medical College and PGI concluded here today. Addressing the delegates, Dr N. Khandelwal, the organising secretary of the conference, said that 50 per cent of the patients suffering from brain haemorrhage died before reaching the hospital. He emphasised the need for immediate diagnosis using CT Scan and angiography, so that the patients could undergo early surgery.
Dr Arun Kumar Gupta, from AIIMS, elaborated on the use of new imaging methods of ultrasound, CT Scan, colour Doppler and MRI to diagnose the causes of hydrocephalus. Dr N.K. Mishra, from AIIMS, also spoke during the course.
