Narain swims after a dunk

Narain Karthikeyan had a spinning and then a stunning run in his debut drive with Williams F1 on the first day of the three-day test session at Jerez, Spain.

He was shortlisted by the Grove team as 8216;first choice Friday tester,8217; in the superior and vastly professional car FW27C.

In the early part of the session Narain brought out the red flags with an early spin. However, a gritty drive therafter not only helped making amends but gave him fifth quickest time of the day and fourth best after the Renaults, Ferrari and Honda.

More importantly, the 1:20.291 seconds effort outpaced 2006 Williams race driver Nico Rosberg by 0.4 seconds, which was good enough to drive the point that he was Williams8217; righ choice.
