Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday launched a weekly Azimabad Express from Patna to Ahmedabad, thereby adding fuel to his demand for renaming Patna as Azimabad. The demand is being perceived as an attempt to woo the state8217;s Muslim vote bank.

In the last three days Railways have launched six new trains from Bihar. Lalu is personally flagging off all the trains and using the opportunity to reiterate his commitment to the development of his state. 8220;I have gifted Bihar projects worth Rs 15,000 crore,8221; he declared after flagging off the Azimabad Express. He talked about the proposed wheel and locomotive factories in his constituency, Chhapra, as well other bridges and overbridges.
