Nagarwada reels under power-cuts

Vadodara, April 27: Residents of the Nagarwada area had to suffer the blazing heat as power-supply to the area was cut off for about four-hours on Monday. This was for the third day in a row when the area had to endure long cuts.

When contacted, the area Gujarat Electricity Board control room said that residents of the area had been informed beforehand that the GEB was undertaking maintenance work in several electric poles in the area. An official said that while Saturday and Sunday evenings8217; power-cuts, was due to maintenance work on Monday, it was the regular staggering of supply. He said there was no technical snag behind the power failures.

GEB Chief engineer P C Patel expressed ignorance about the power-cuts but said he would look into the matter.
