VADODARA, NOV 29: Mumbai cruised to a 53-run victory over hosts Baroda in the West Zone one-day Ranji Trophy league match at the IPCL ground here today. Baroda won the toss and put Mumbai in to bat under cloudy conditions.

The visitors piled up a 255 for seven wickets from 50 overs and then dismissed the hosts for 202 in 45.4 overs.

Skipper Sanjay Manjrekar was Mumbai8217;s top scorer with 68 98 balls, 4215;4 Rajesh Sutar blasted 39 44b, 2215;6, 3215;4, while Vinod Kambli was relatively sedate while scoring 38 2215;4, 1215;6. Mumbai8217;s innings was propped up by a spectacular knock by wicket-keeper Sameer Dighe who clobbered 35 19b, 3215;4, 1215;6. Baroda began disatrously by losing three early wickets and never recovered from it. Connon Williams with a useful 48 74b was the top scorer for the hosts. Ajit Bhoite and Atul Bedade contributed 34 each.

One-dayer abandoned

AHMEDABAD: Heavy overnight rains, that lashed the city for more than two hours, forced the umpires to call off the one-day match between Gujarat and Maharashtra here today. Both the teams got a point each.
