CR bags zonal shields

Central Railway has, for the second year in succession, emerged as the premier Railway on the Indian Railway System by bagging the Best Zonal Shield Awards in three disciplines. Nitish Kumar, Minister for Railways, has awarded Central Railway the Best Railway Shield for its performance on scrap sales, the highest on the Indian Railways.

CR has also been awarded the shield for the best railway on afforestation activity. The railway has also bagged the trophy for the best Railways in Signal and Telecommunication. It is the only railway to have bagged this award. At present, K B Sankaran is General Manager of the railway.
