University8217;s bit for Kargil

Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai, Dr Snehalata S Deshmukh, has handed over to Governor Dr P C Alexander a cheque of Rs two lakh in aid of jawans fighting in Kargil. The money was pitched in by the various colleges affilited to the university. Besides, Khalsa College in Matunga and Guru Nanak College in Sion has given cheques of Rs 51,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively to the university.

The book is a biographical sketch of the first Governor of RBI. The award comprises a merit certificate, memento and cash prize of Rs 10,000, and will be given at a function at New Delhi shortly.
