Kamat on finance committee
MUMBAI, July 27: Member of Parliament Gurudas Kamat has been nominated on the consultative committee of the Ministry of Finance. Finance Minister Yashwant Singh is chairperson of this committee.

In a memorandum to Sinha, Kamat has demanded that an additional bench of the customs and central excise appellate tribunal be opened in Mumbai urgently. Industry representatives have to travel to Delhi each time there is a dispute, and the workload for the present bench in Mumbai is too much. An additional bench in the city would go a long way in solving the problem, Kamat stated.
