
Restrictions on traffic
Due to the swearing in of the council of ministers of the new government, to be held today at 4 pm at Raj Bhavan, the traffic police have imposed certain restrictions: Walkeshwar Road from its junction with Babulnath Road and Dr V N Purandare Marg to its junction with B G Kher Marg to its junction with B G Kher Marg will be one way from 3 pm to 4.5 pm.

Kerala Foundation Day
A Multi-media show, Mamankam 2000, will be held at the Andheri Sports Complex to commemorate Kerala Foundation Day on October 31. The show, organised by the Peoples8217; Art Centre, will be inaugurated by Governor Dr P C Alexander.
On show will be the most significant episodes in Kerala8217;s history. The stage frontage, designed by Sabu Cyril, will be a replica of the portico of the Padmanabhapuram Palace, a medieval marvel which today housespriceless relics of ancient Kerala. Over 500 top artistes will perform various folk and artistic items indigenous to Kerala.
Camp on addiction
A two-day therapy camp based on acupuncture is being organised for the free treatment of chronic addiction8217; to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and guthka by the Acupuncture Research amp; Training School on October 30 and 31 from 11 am to 1 pm.

Collection drive for Kargil
The Bombay Catholic Sabha8217;s We Care8217; collection drive today raised Rs 4.66 lakh for the victims of the Kargil conflict, both in the armed forces as well as among civilians. Of the amount raised, Rs two lakh was handed over to the Army Central Welfare Fund, Rs 1.16 lakh to the Maratha Light Infantry, Belgaum, and Rs 1.50 lakh for civilian life in the Kargil and Batalik areas. The collection effort was made outside churches,at slums, on the streets, and at railway stations, a statement read.UTI
