Directive on BMC merit list
The state government has directed city employment exchanges to iron out discrepancies in recommending job aspirants to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation BMC.
The government has asked employment exchanges to submit fresh merit lists so that in future, instances of out-of-turn recommendations for job aspirants to the BMC could be checked. Congress corporator from Colaba, Annie Shekhar had alleged that meritorious and eligible candidates whose names appeared on the top of the merit list at employment exchanges kept waiting for interview calls while fresh entrants to the list were recommended for jobs. 8220;I have received several complaints from all over the city that candidates who have some influence can easily get an interview call from the BMC even if their names were just added to the merit list,8221; Shekhar said.
