The Indian PGA Tour8217;s top ranked professional, Mukesh Kumar, proved his worth as he carded a four-under, 68 to lead the Forest Hills Open at 206, ten-under-par at the end of day8217;s play today.

Mukesh, who currently leads the rankings and is well placed to take home his third order of merit title, has played flawless golf this season. He is also the only player with an under-par total after three days of competitive golf and just needs to keep the ball in play to claim the title tomorrow.

Amritinder Singh and Ashok Kumar are currently tied second at level-par, 216, ten strokes behind the leader. Both golfers, who played together last week and finished the tournament tied third, will attempt to card low scores in the fight for sole second place.

Ashok, who carded a four-under 68 this afternoon, after rounds of 72 and 76 yesterday, has consistently been in contention on the Indian tour this year. After level-par for the day with a birdie on the fourth and a bogey on the 11th, Ashok got going with birdies on the 12th, 13th, 15th and 16th holes, narrowly missing another on the last to card a 68.

Local golfer, Harmeet Kahlon, who started the week as a favourite to win, faltered with a 77 today, after a brilliant 68 yesterday. He missed a few putts and three-putted his way across the course, according to his caddie.
