PUNE, Dec 3: Mrudula Vidwans and Adinarayan Kumbhar took home two gold medals each in the Poona District sub-junior athletic meet organised by Shikshan Prasharak Mandali, at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, here today.

Mrudula, a fifth standard student of Huzurpaga High School, clocked the fastest in the 60mts and 100mts run of the girls under-12 age group, at 9.5 seconds and 16.1 seconds respectively. She was closely followed by Parnita Gawade of Krida Prabhodini High School as the latter crossed the finishing line with a timing of 10 seconds.

Krida Prabodhini8217;s Adinarayan Kumbhar8217;s top honours came in the long jump 1.58mtr and high jump 5.24mtr events. The two golds made him the recipient of the Best Athlete award for the boys under-14 age group.

In the corresponding girls category, Beenali Sankpal, also of Krida Prabodhini, finished the fastest in the 100mts race with a timing of 13.4 seconds for the gold.

Krida Prabhodini High School maintained the overall top position as they won an aggregate of 13 golds, 8 silvers and 9 bronze medals on the concluding day.
