VADODARA, March 25: The Regional Provident Fund Commissionerate here has initiated criminal action against four more companies for non-payment of provident fund dues of their employees despite deducting from their salaries.

An official of the Commissionerate said that criminal cases have been filed against Micro Precision Pumps and Gears Ltd, Madhvas, and Air Command (India) Ltd, Baska, of the Panchmahals in Godhra district court. The two companies had not paid the dues from July 1997 to December 1997 and also failed to produce their record in this connection.

The Provident Fund Commissionerate filed a criminal case in the Vadodara District Court on Wednesday against Calic Polyester owners who failed to deposit PF contribution of 25 its employees. The company has now closed down.

In another case, a case of cheating and breach of trust was booked in Haalol police station against the authorities of Motorol India Ltd, Haalol, for not paying employees’ share of PF dues totalling to Rs 5.37 lakh. The complaint has been lodged by Provident Fund inspector Subhash Samra.

The company has to pay a total of Rs 20 lakh to the PF department, including administrative charges, employees deposit linked insurance scheme and family pension fund contribution scheme. A police case was registered against this company last year also for recovering PF dues of 300 employees working with it.

Meanwhile, PF authorities registered one more case of non-payment of PF dues against Hotel Rama Inn in Sayajigunj. According to the complaint, the hotel has not paid a sum of Rs 76,000 as employees’ contribution towards their PF from June 1997 to August 1998.
