This was an occasion when the moon outdid a whole lot of foreign stars. This week marked the start of the Global Fortune Forum, which saw many renowned faces from the US8212;from policymakers to top CEOs8212; descending on India. With US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson too in town, half a dozen dinners were planned for last Monday. But the day also happened to be Karva Chauth, the day wives in north India keep a fast for their husbands. No one forgot the festival and special arrangements were made at the dinners for the who8217;s who to follow the ritual of breaking the fast only after sighting the moon. In some cases, of course, this meant going outdoors to gaze at the celestial heights8212;much to the chagrin of the waiting foreign guests.
