Professor Damodar Shintre, head of applied mechanics department of Maharashtra Institute of Technology MIT died on Monday after a massive heart attack. He was 64 and is survived by his wife, son and daughter. He significantly contributed in starting post graduation department in applied mechanics in MIT.
Before joining MIT eight years ago, he was a professor with College of Engineering Pune, joint director with Maharahtra states8217; technical education department and was also the department head with Pune and Mumbai polytechnics.
