AMBALA, Nov 4: The leaders of political parties and journalists8217; bodies have criticised Haryana Minister of State for Architecture Raj Kumar Saini for alleged use of unparliamentary language against working journalists while speaking at a function organised by the Bharat Vikas Parishad at Raipur Rani on October 25.

Through a resolution adopted at its executive committee meeting the Haryana Union of Journalists, affiliated to the National Union of Journalists of India, condemned the Minister for using derogatory remarks against journalists without any provocation. The meeting chaired by its president Som Nath Sharma was held at Canal Rest House, Yamunanagar, on Sunday.

The resolution demanded that the Minister should tender unqualified apology for using vulgar language against journalists. The journalists at Naraingarh, the assembly constituency represented by Saini, held a meeting criticising the minister and resolved to boycott the minister8217;s meetings and give no coverage till he tenders an apology.

Haryana state BSP spokesman Ashok Kumar too has condemned Saini for his use of language against the fourth estate which plays a vital role in the functioning of democracy. He demanded the resignation of the minister alleging that the minister was amassing wealth through corrupt means and also by raising funds from the people of his constituency through coercive methods. He said that his party would launch an agitation if he did not resign.
