AHMEDABAD, Oct 1: A mega show of fashion, pop and bhangra with Bollywood actress Monica Bedi as the anchor, was postponed abruptly by the organisers after some unidentified persons threatened the models.

The show, organised by Sampark Advertising, was to be held on Thursday night and had a galaxy of top models and choreographers from Mumbai, besides the Daboo Malik band and bhangra dancer Herry Dhillon. The show was aimed to display traditional Gujarati dresses for which about eight designers from the State had provided 160 newly designed clothes.

Show organiser P R Patel told Ahmedabad Newsline that the decision to wind up the programme was taken late on Wednesday when the models refused to continue with the rehearsal and demanded to go back to Mumbai. They had complained that there was tension and harassment and they would not be able to perform.

Patel, however, denied any political interference.
