MC drive to continue

CHANDIGARH, August 2: The Municipal Corporation will continue its anti-encroachment drive in the City, which was launched following orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The court had directed that 15 feet of area from the edges of the City roads on both sides should be cleared of any encroachments, leading from north to south. In the second phase, the roads leading from east to west were to be cleared of encroachments.While the Administration had filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court against the HC judgment, the directive for clearing the encroachments had not been challenged.
