MC councillor assaulted

CHANDIGARH, Oct 1: Municipal Councillor Rajinder Kumar was allegedly assaulted outside the Sector 17 Fire Station by three quot;unidentifiedquot; scooter-borne youths who were stopped by him for banging into his scooter near Hotel Shivalik View.

Though the councillor claims that one of the assaulters, a quot;CIDquot; officer, was spotted by him during a dharna and handed over to a Deputy Superintendent of Police, officials at the Sector 17 Police Station deny arresting any person involved in the incident. The DSP, meanwhile, was not available for comments. Refuting Kumar8217;s claim, police officials stated that a case of rash and negligent driving and for causing hurt has been registered.
