Mayor Arti Mehra will once again write to Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna against Leader of the Opposition in MCD Jai Kishan Sharma.
BJP members cried foul when Sharma took a dig at BJP chief ministerial candidate V K Malhotra in a meeting of the House. Commenting on the BJP8217;s defeat in the Assembly elections, he said, 8220;Is he the CM in waiting for a railway ticket or is he waiting outside a public convenience for his turn to go inside?8221;
BJP members present in the House demanded that he apologise for his 8220;unparliamentary remarks8221; against Malhotra. 8220;The House will go on only if the Leader of the Opposition takes his comments back,8221; Deputy Chairman Divya Jaiswal said. But Sharma refused to apologise.
8220;I shall send the recording of the proceedings of the House to the L-G. He should know what language is being used in the House by the Leader of the Opposition,8221; the mayor said.
Sharma said he didn8217;t have anything against Malhotra. 8220;All I meant to say is the BJP lost because of the several projects that were promised last year. The projects and promises are still waiting to take off. But the mayor wants to unnecessarily grab publicity,8221; he said.
