ROOPNAGAR, Nov 5: Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati today said that the party would contest the forthcoming assembly elections on its own. Setting at rest all the speculations of alliance, she said, “The BSP is opposed to both the BJP and the Congress”.

Speaking to media persons at the canal rest house here, Mayawati, who was on a personal visit, lamented that transfer of votes in accordance with the pacts signed earlier with other parties had always proved one sided. “The votes of other parties were never transferred to the BSP,” she said.

Terming the BJP as a “party of hoarders”, Mayawati said, “let there be fresh elections in UP, the BJP would be wiped out.” Accusing the BJP of shielding traders, Mayawati attributed the overall price rise of essential commodities to the hoarders.
