February 18: Maya Patil of Mumbai Range grabbed a gold and a silver medal in the athletics event of the 14th Maharashtra State Police Games at Priyadarshini Park today.

Patil8217;s gold in the 100 metres hurdles 8212; she took silver behind Pune8217;s Gosavi in the long jump 8212; took Mumbai City8217;s gold medal tally to four on the second day of the competition when the men8217;s football and hockey teams scored identical 9-0 victories.

The football team ran slipshod over Railway Range with four goals and hat-tricks from both Pramod Sail and Rajesh Tondwalkar after Uday Gade had opened proceedings for his team at the St Xavier8217;s Ground, Parel.

The hockey team, with three goals from Ganesh Patoli, two from Mahendra Jadhav and one each from D Jadhav, Wajid Shaikh, Tushar Kanole and Devidas Satpal, trounced Nashik Range to set up a meeting with Amravati City in the next round.
