The Union Cabinet is likely to give its nod to the expansion of mid-day meal programme to upper primary classes on Thursday.

The Union Cabinet is likely to give its nod to the expansion of mid-day meal programme to upper primary classes on Thursday.

The expansion of the programme is expected to benefit another three crore children, studying in upper primary classes VI to VIII. As per the mid-day meal programme, cooked meals with calorie content of 450 kilocalories is provided to government school kids up to class VI.
