MUMBAI, AUGUST 1: Southpaw Sushant Manjrekar superb unbeaten hundred and his 140-run association for the third wicket with Ojas Mehta formed the fourth day highlights of the A Division Dr HD Kanga Cricket League at Shivaji Park Gymkhana here on Sunday. However, Manjrekar and Mehta8217;s efforts failed to fetch victory for Shivaji Park Gymkhana as opponents Young Friends saw the day through without getting dismissed.

Manjrekar8217;s unbeaten knock of 100 was studded with two sixes and eight fours while Mehta hits three fours in his 53 as SPG piled 184-4 before declaring the innings. In reply, Young Friend were 122-6 at draw of stumps.

Rohan Gavaskar8217;s all-round display powered Cricket Club of India to a seven-wicket win over PJ Hindu Gymkhana at Brabourne Stadium. Hindu Gymkhana after being put in to bat were bowled out for 108 with Gavaskar8217;s medium-pace striking the early blows 2-14 in 6 overs. Thereafter left-arm spinner Mayank Khandwala 3-29 and leg-spinner Sairaj Bahutule 3-29 share the spoils. CCIcruised to the target comfortably with Gavaskar leading the run-charge compiling an unbeaten 65 in 92 balls with ten boundaries.

Left-arm spinner Nilesh Kulkarni 4-26 and southpaw Pushkaraj Jadhav 34 n.o. enacted lead roles in defending champions National8217;s five-wicket win over Khar Gymkhana.

Half-centuries by Salil Naik 73: 5215;4 and Anirudha Rangnekar 60: 4215;4 and Jayesh Kansra8217;s 5-28 helped Sunder Cricket Club record their second successive win in the B Division league. Sundar defeated Fort Vijay by 66 runs at the Azad Maidan.

Gaurang Chavan8217;s unbeaten half century 68 and fine medium-pace bowling by Vishal Mahadik 4-53 enabled Worli upstage Jolly Cricketers by 12 runs at Worli.
