Man dies, kin allege 145;negligence146; at GMSH

A man died due to the alleged negligence of doctors at the Government Multi Specialty Hospital in the city today.

A man died due to the alleged negligence of doctors at the Government Multi Specialty Hospital GMSH in the city today. Forty-year-old Rashpal Singh was admitted in the hospital after he fell down from his scooter on the dividing road of Sectors 38 and 40 on Monday night. He was allegedly driving under the influence of liquor.

According to the police, Rashpal had sustained injuries on his forehead and legs and was rushed to the hospital. He was discharged after first aid.

8220;He complained of suffocation to the doctor on emergency duty. The doctor said it was because he under the influence of liquor. They advised us to take him home,8221; a relative of the victim told mediapersons.

After reaching home, Rashpal again complained of uneasiness and was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him 8216;dead on arrival8217;. They said that Rashpal died of a heart attack.

The family of the victim, meanwhile, have alleged negligence on part of the doctors. They said that the doctors on duty did not examine Rashpal properly and discharged him despite the fact that he had complained of uneasiness.

The hospital authorities have, meanwhile, refuted the allegations. 8220;Immediate attention was given to the patient when he was brought to the hospital. He was properly examined and was given the required medial treatment,8221; a doctor said.

The deceased was cremated in the evening. The family has not registered any formal complaint because they plan to meet senior health authorities on Wednesday and apprise them of the alleged negligence.
