Man dies in hospital

SURAT, March 14: The man, who tried to loot a person last week, died in the New Civil hospital on Saturday, while being treated for severe head and body injuries, sustained after he was beaten up by a mob.

Chotu Dudhani, and three others, had tried to loot one Mehul Bhati, a salesman of Satyam company, outside the Varachha Co-operative Limited Bank. Bhati however managed to catch Dudhani, while the three other accused, namely Ravi Vaghela, Paresh and Pali Babubhai escaped. A mob soon gathered and beat up Dudhani, before the police intervened and shifted him to the New Civil hospital in a critical condition. He died during the early hours of Saturday before he could regain consciousness. The police said that no relatives had claimed Dudhani8217;s dead body.
