Make-over contest held at KCW

About 40 students participated in the 8220;Make-over contest8221; organised in the Department of Cosmetology of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, on Wednesday.

The participants were asked undergo a make-over by altering their make-up, hair style, attire and jewellery in just 15 minutes. Pushpinder, Karishma Kapoor, Richa, Anjali and Rajveer Kaur were declared the winners at the contest.

8220;The contest was tight, and giving judgement was a tough call,8221; said the judge, Rippy Chatwal from Shehnaz Hussain Herbalz.

Vyoma Agarwal of the Department of Cosmetology said the contest was aimed at exploring the potential and creativity of the students in make-over and styling.

The guest of honour, Dr Varinder Thind, principal of the college, appreciated the efforts of the staff and students. The staff members, Shama Mohindra, Renu Saini, Navjot Kaur and Amarpreet Kaur were also present on the occasion.

Congress leaders held
Five Congmen from Ludhiana including the district Congress president Jagmohan Sharma were among the 20 Congress leaders arrested today outside the Mini Secretariat in Chandigarh on Wednesday.

The leaders alleged that they were standing peacefully when police team came and said that they had violated Section 144. Among those held were Kamal Puri from Patiala. Later they were taken to Sector 3 police station.
