
MUMBAI, February 11: Maharashtra scored a thrilling win over Saurashtra in the West Zone under-14 Cricket league one-day match tournament at the Bombay Gymkhana today. Maharashtra won with just two balls to spare and two wickets in hand.
Coasting comfortably at 82 for one after restricting the opponents to 169 for nine off the stipulated 40 overs, Maharashtra lost next seven wickets for addition of 62 runs.
However, Vivek Bibwe 43 n.o., 49 balls, 7215;4 along with tail-enders reached the target with two wickets and two balls to spare.

In another match, Baroda acquired two points when they defeated Gujarat by four wickets at the Elf Vengsarkar Academy grounds here today.
Baroda won the toss and put opposition in to bat. Tight bowling byJayendra Zhala 3-6, Amit Salvi 2-27 and Anant Bochare 2-25 helped Baroda bowl out Gujarat for 111 off 34 overs with Saumya Desai top scoring with 35 36 balls, 4215;4. Baroda, in reply, rattled up 115 runs losing six wickets off 26.4 overs. For Baroda, left-handed middle order batsman Shatrunjay Gaikwad top scored with 36 off 43 balls, which included five hits to the fence. Spinner Timil Patel 3-50 and medium-pacer Swapnil Patel 2-16 bowled well for winners.
