PUNE, July 15: Maharashtra won the overall team championship in the boys and girls section of the 14th Sub-Junior National Swimming Championship which concluded at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex.The hosts garnered 339 points with 17 gold, 23 silver and 10 bronze medals while archrivals Karnataka collected 186 points to be second. Sudip Chatterjee of Bengal and Tejaswi Shetty of Maharashtra were adjudged as best swimmers in boys and girls section respectively. Sudip won six gold and one silver medals while Tejaswi got five gold and one bronze medals.Sudip got 35 points and was also declared the best individual swimmer in the boys under-13 years, while Parikshit Shetty with three gold and three silver secured 36 points to be the best individual swimmer in boys under-11 years.Tejaswi with 47 and Ambica Iyenger of Karnataka with 32 points were declared best individual swimmers in the girls under-13 and 11 years respectively. Four hundred swimmers from 21 states had participated in the meet.`
