When a country develops, it becomes richer. Its resources grow and its economic strength rises. But while all this happens, there is one vital resources which bears the brunt of such progress. It is the natural reserves. While the rest of the artificially generated resources and riches can be replenished, the natural resources of the country almost never regenerate.

An example of this is the forest cover of India. According to surveys done by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, India8217;s forest cover has reduced by 5,482 square kilometers in the last two years. Between 1995 and 1997, the maximum loss has been of dense forests. These type are almost impossible to regenerate. While there was an increase in open forests and mangroves, it was not enough to offset the loss of the real jungles. The future won8217;t be better, sadly.
