Lawyers assaulted the three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in the sessions court premises while they were being taken by the police to be produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
A large number of lawyers, who were present in the court premises, roughed up the militants, who had ‘confessed’ to plotting to abduct Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, even as a few police personnel tried to protect them.
The militants were later taken to the court by the senior security officials accompanied by additional security personnel.
Earlier, the JeM militants Mohammad Abid, Yusuf and Mirza Rashid Beg were produced before the upper civil judge from where they were taken to the CJM’s court for remand hearing.
