GOTHENBURG, November 27: Sweden chose Magnus Larsson as their second singles player for the Davis Cup final against the United States, who left world No 1 Pete Sampras out of their doubles pairing today.

Larsson, the only man to beat Sampras twice this year, was chosen ahead of Thomas Enqvist. He will play Sampras in the second singles tomorrow after world No 4 Jonas Bjorkman takes on Michael Chang, ranked No three.

Todd Martin and Jonathan Stark, a late replacement for tAlex O8217;Brien, will play doubles against Bjorkman and Nicklas Kulti.
